The Canaries consist of 7 larger and 4 very small volcanic islands. These islands are a 'bridge between the continents' of Europe, Africa, and South America. Taking an excursion to either the capital of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Puerto del a Cruz or Mount Teide will show tourists a very different beautiful side to Tenerife. There are flowers and fauna in Tenerife which simply do not grow anywhere else in the world.
